Navigating International Logistics Networks (Modul: Angewandte Logistikforschung)
In the field of tension between increasing dynamics and complexity of international logistics networks on the one hand and increasing customer requirements regarding variety and delivery times on the other hand, logistics managers are faced with the challenge of regularly generating novel solution approaches for a multitude of problems in a short period of time. The classical approaches from theory often reach their limits, which leads to a gap between theory and practice that prospective managers have to close quickly. Dealing with increasing globalization and rapidly advancing digitalization in particular presents a complex challenge in the context of new requirements for the sustainability of the emerging logistics systems.
Learning Objectives
Based on real case studies, participants of the course are enabled to work on complex problems in a short time and to develop practical solutions. The course participants work in groups on three successive case studies and compete against each other with their solutions. The case studies deal with topics of international logistics management (Africa, Asia, Europe) and the elaboration requires competences in different fields of logistics.
Prerequisite: Master's degree, previous knowledge in the field of logistics required
Participant limit: min. 4 to max. 15 participants
