Fundamentals of Logistics (former Logistics)
The module enables students to understand the operating principles of logistics connecting the areas of economics, material-flow technology, production technology, transport systems and informatics. They realize the comprehensive approach and the process orientation of logistics and are able to apply the taught methodologies in logistics planning.
The students know the tasks, contents and challenges in logistics. The acquired knowledge allows for designing logistics systems in consideration of the design tasks as well as the dependencies and inter-dependencies to other corporate functions. The course aims at preparing students for continuing Master courses in logistics and giving practical expertise for the professional life of Bachelor graduates.
Learning Objectives
The aim is to convey an understanding of the design tasks in logistics and at the same time to get to know the dependencies and interdependencies to other corporate functions.
In addition, the design of logistics systems and the necessary information systems will be taught.
