Module Logistics: Design and Integration
provides in-depth information on strategic, tactical and operative
logistics planning, in particular logistics system planning in
industry, trade and logistics services. In addition, the use of
information technologies, automation and identification technologies
as well as the interaction of the logistician with these systems are
dealt with in detail.
In the application part of the course, the methods of process recording, process analysis and process design will be practically learned. This includes the classification of products and components, process visualization, key figure calculation, especially through the method of value stream design and the calculation of the total cost of ownership.
Technological components which are necessary for the planning and control of logistics systems and which, as part of logistics systems, improve the processes towards higher customer satisfaction are considered in greater depth. The use of automation and identification technologies under laboratory conditions will be demonstrated for the execution of warehouse processes. Within the scope of the consideration of digitized logistics processes, questions of cross-plant logistics planning, real-time tracking of processes and digital business models in logistics are learned.
The students will learn how to
apply suitable methods for various design, controlling and planning
problems in logistics. Here, the focus is particularly on conveying
the customer order process and its influence on operative, tactical
and strategic logistics system planning. Due to the holistic view the
planning of the logistic systems for industry, trade and logistics
service is considered including the integration of customers,
suppliers, development, production and traffic.
