The study program of Industrial Engineering and Management is following a long tradition at TUB. It has been offered since 1926, when the program was established as the first one of its kind in Germany. Today the study program is one of the most renowned, which is also depicted by over 2.300 students, who are enrolled in the program. This makes it one of the largest at TUB.
Its success is mainly based on the concept of an interdisciplinary education, which comes from theoretical and practical questions with regard to technology, economy and society. The extensive curriculum leads to an education, which is unique in its width and on a very high level in its profundity. The foundation of the excellent education in engineering, information technology, economics and management are the different departments of TUB, which take an active part in teaching.
In the job market, graduates with professional competence and
analytic thinking, who can work in an interdisciplinary and
communicative way in teams, are sought after. A matured personality in
combination with high readiness and an entrepreneurial attitude
complete the profile for success. The achievements of such an
education concept have been shown in recent studies. There can be no
doubt about the fact that in the future TUB graduates of industrial
engineering and management will be requested young professionals with
above average career opportunities. Notably, the reputation of our
graduates with human resources managers of leading firms is excellent.
The proficiency level and the thereby conjoined chances of studying
industrial engineering and management at the TUB enthuse freshman and
advanced students likewise.
When creating the master program, recent professional developments were considered, which is reflected by the different technological specializations offered. A wide range of compulsory and elective courses rounds off the individual area of specialization. Additionally, students have the possibility to chose free electives and by that participate in modules of science outside their subject area.
