BVL Working Group on Environmental and Resource Efficiency

Within the working group of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL) e.V., the topic of environmental and resource efficiency in logistics in the context of international commodity chains was examined together with logistics experts from approx. 20 well-known companies from the industry, trade and logistics services sectors. The following topics have been defined as focal points of the working group, which will be designed and elaborated together with the participants in a total of 5 workshops.

  • Drivers and stakeholders of environmental and resource protection in logistics
  • Measurement and evaluation
  • Approaches, measures and best practices
  • Communication of environmental and resource efficiency in logistics

In addition to the logistics experts and the logistics team, numerous speakers from the service, consulting and political sectors were involved in the content design of the workshops, who enriched the workshops with their know-how. The kick-off workshop took place on 27.02.2009 at the Technical University of Berlin. The results of the workshop were presented at the Logistics Forum Duisburg 2010 of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik e.V. (German Logistics Association). A publication of the results of the working group in the publication series Economy & Logistics of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik e.V. is currently being prepared.
