Thomas Zernechel trained as a technical illustrator at Volkswagen AG and graduated in mechanical engineering from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences.

In the course of his professional life, among other things, he was responsible for material flow planning, plant technology and process organisation as well as work organisation and holistic logistics optimisation. Through Volkswagen AG, he was deployed not only in Wolfsburg but also in Spain, Slovakia and Brazil.

His successes lie in the further development of Group logistics by creating significant synergies by merging processes across plant, brand and Group functions. He focuses on new technologies, digitalisation and sustainability in logistics to give it a future-oriented design.

Today, he supervises the course "Production Logistics" as an external lecturer.
